Ocean’s 8 is one of those cinema that sounds good in speculation but will likely miss execution.
On paper, a film formed on a popular, already determined franchise, starring a litany of endowment winners such as Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett Anne Hathaway and Sarah Paulson, and a garland of other friendly actresses such as Mindy Kaling, Helena Bonham Carter, and Rihanna (?), should crush.
But the trailer, and the plot, just seem … underwhelming.
Danny Ocean’s disloyal sister Debbie attempts to lift off the heist of the century at New York City’s star-studded annual Met Gala. Her first stop is to arrange the ideal crew: Lou, Rose, Daphne Kluger, Nine Ball, Tammy, Amita, and Constance.1
The actresses alone have me meddlesome adequate to check out the film when it hits theatres, the film itself seems like it will humour from the same problems that many reboots and ripoffs humour from. That said, put Sarah Paulson and Rihanna in the same film and I’m giving you $11.
Ocean’s 8, destined by Gary Ross and created by Ross and Olivia Milch, is both a supplement and spin-off of the Ocean’s Trilogy, and will be expelled in theaters on Jun 8, 2018.
