Right-Wing Pundit Gets Big Backlash for Shooting Comments

The Fulshear Area Chamber of Commerce in Texas has canceled its eventuality with regressive author and pundit Dinesh D’Souza after he mocked the tyro survivors of the Parkland, FL school shooting.

An organizer for the eventuality reliable to Media Matters in an email currently that the eventuality has been canceled. 

The event, patrician “Dinesh D’Souza, The Case for Capitalism,” was scheduled for Feb 23 and was sponsored by internal groups and financial institutions like NewFirst National Bank and First Financial Bank (a cache of the eventuality page, which has been taken down, is available here).


Student survivors of the Feb 14 sharpened at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School have been speaking out against gun violence, job for new gun laws and organizing rallies. Many worried media personalities, however, have smeared the students with attacks and conspiracy theories.  

D’Souza has recently mocked the tyro survivors and pronounced their grief “strikes me as artificial inauthentic”:
