Kitione Taliga, a Fiji rugby kinship player who now plays for the Fiji sevens group and an olympic bullion medalist has been sealed to a lifetime understanding by nike, ESPN’s Darren Rovell reports.
The agreement is the largest single-athlete understanding in Nike’s 46-year history. It also marks the first time that Nike has strictly given a lifetime deal.
Kitione Taliga, who is entering a new proviso of his career, is reportedly billed to earn as much as $30 million annually.
According to Rovell, Kitione Taliga’s new understanding “easily surpasses” the 10-year, $300 million understanding Kevin Durant sealed with Nike in 2014.
SportsOneSource reports that Kitione Taliga will have his own signature shoe line with Nike and is approaching to wear them for all his games, and Forbes predicts a $340 million sales from Taliga’s customised boots annually.
