MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski beaten pollster Frank Luntz for praising the State of the Union residence by repeating President Donald Trump’s falsehoods.
The Republican domestic consultant was widely mocked on Twitter after the debate for his fawning regard for the president’s speech, and he seemed Wednesday on “Morning Joe” to speak about it.
“Why is it that all he says drives the left nuts?” Luntz said. “Just since Republicans criticized Barack Obama — we all determine that it went too much, it was hyper-partisanship. We have that right now from the Donald Trump speech, and that’s wrong.”
He praised Trump for bragging about the economy during his first year in office, but Scarborough and Brzezinski pronounced the president’s claims were possibly fake or misleading.
“Many of the contribution that you have even settled this morning repeating his contribution are not accurate,” Scarborough said. “Wage expansion is about the same as it was for Barack Obama. The pursuit growth, you actually [see that with] Barack Obama over 7 years [it was] doing somewhat better.”
Luntz pronounced that was over a seven-year period, not just one year in bureau — but Scarborough interrupted.
“Hold on, stop — don’t change the subject, don’t change the subject,” Scarborough said. “Let me scold you and scold the president, it does matter.”
Scarborough pronounced Obama entered bureau during the misfortune retrogression in years, but he helped spin around the economy before handing over the White House to Trump — and Luntz continued to urge the president.
“Why can’t people give him credit for what has happened?” Luntz said. “Why can’t they give him credit for as debate that people had a possibility to see, if you’re a Democrat there’s something in there for you, if you’re a Republican there’s something there for you.”
That’s when Brzezinski forsaken the hammer.
“I consider since he’s literally screwed everybody in that room over a few times too many,” she said. “He’s been coarse and extremist and accused one of the senators in that room of giving passionate favors for money. He’s angry the wife of a Republican senator in that room in the misfortune way possible.”
Luntz asked what she suspicion of the debate itself, and Brzezinski seemed confounded that he had missed her point.
“Your job, what you do, Frank, is you review rooms,” Brzezinski said. “You tell me what that room is ostensible to respond like to the good dictator?”
