Statement by Pentagon Spokesman Col. Robert Manning on North Korea ICBM Launch
The U.S. Department of Defense rescued and tracked a singular North Korea barb launch currently at about 1:17 p.m. EST. Initial comment indicates that this barb was an intercontinental ballistic barb (ICBM).
The barb was launched from Sain Ni, North Korea, and trafficked about 1000 km before striking down in the Sea of Japan, within Japan’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). We are operative with the interagency partners on a some-more minute comment of the launch.
The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) dynamic the barb launch from North Korea did not poise a hazard to North America, the territories or the allies.
Our joining to the invulnerability of the allies, including the Republic of Korea and Japan, in the face of these threats, stays ironclad. We sojourn prepared to urge ourselves and the allies from any attack or provocation.
