FBI Atlanta Arrests Fugitive Charged in New Jersey for Dragging Police Officer

ATLANTA — Donell Cook, age 27, of Newark, New Jersey, was arrested by FBI agents and Task Force Officers of the FBI led Atlanta Metro Major Offender’s (AMMO) Task Force, along with extensive assistance from the Dekalb County Police Department today, Nov 29, at a chateau in Lithonia, Georgia.

On Sep 29, 2017, Cook unsuccessful to seem for sentencing at Middlesex County Superior Court, New Brunswick, New Jersey. Cook pleaded guilty to 2nd grade aggravated attack of a police officer stemming from a car office wherein the officer was dragged approximately fifty feet.

After the initial refugee review indicated that Cook had fled to the metro Atlanta area, a sovereign Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution (UFAP) aver was obtained.

Cook is now being incarcerated at the Dekalb County Detention Facility, Dekalb County, Georgia, where he awaits extradition back to New Jersey.
